AY Sensors Announces Availability of New Larger Format 25 x 25 mm² Perovskite Single Crystals for High-Performance X-ray Direct Detection Applications
Victoria, BC, Canada – June 24, 2025 – AY Sensors, a leading innovator in perovskite materials, is pleased to announce the availability of its new, larger-sized single crystals, now offered in a 25 x 25 mm² format. These crystals are available both as grown and polished and metalized. They are ideal for direct detection and image sensor applications for gamma- and X-ray detectors.
This new size represents a significant expansion in the company’s product offering, building on its well-established 10 x 10 mm² crystals. The 25 x 25 mm² format enables broader detector coverage and improved integration flexibility for research, development, and commercial-scale applications.
"This is a key milestone in our mission to scale high-sensitivity perovskite crystals for next-generation X-ray detection," said Sergey Dayneko, CTO at AY Sensors. "By offering larger-area crystals with the same high-quality characteristics, we're opening the door to more advanced detector designs and new application domains."
Key Features and Advantages of AY Single Crystals:
Single crystal perovskite compound semiconductors tailored for direct X-ray detection and imaging applications.
Novel, precision-control growth technique, enables precise control over stoichiometry, defect density, and crystal uniformity.
Exceptional optoelectronic properties, including:
High X-ray absorption coefficients
Balanced and long-range electron/hole transport
Long carrier diffusion lengths
Ultra-low trap densities
These combine to deliver superior X-ray sensitivity and detectivity in performance-critical environments.
